"Most people run a race to see who is fastest.
I run a race to see who has the most guts."

Well, it is that time of the year again. Summer has ebbed into Fall, the nights are crisp and the days are pleasant...and the Moab Half Marathon is about as many weeks away as it is miles long--give or take a few.
That means it is time to start training. The next few months will be filled with carbo-loading, sore muscles, cramps, sore nipples, blisters, and a few black and blue toe nails. Trust me--you will be glad you did it once it is all over.
Training for a marathon is just as much mental preparation as it is physical preparation. Your body can run 13.1 miles. You just have to convince your mind that you can do it. After that, it is just one foot in front of the other.
And remember, lost toe nails are a badge of honor... so let the road to Moab begin.
