Cold Turkey Run

Yesterday was one of our test runs to see how ready we all are for Moab. We (Megan, Doug, Dave, Anne, and Alex) all ran a 6k from the Utah Capital up City Creek and down through Memory Grove. We were all doing good until we came upon some guy who did not train at all for the run and had passed out in the middle of the raod with about a mile left to go. That slowed us all down. We won't say who it was that passed out, but he was listed in the group above. Moral of the story, you better start practicing now for moab!!

The Blue Light Special

Ok gang, I have officially set up our group for the Moab Half-Marathon. To register, click on the link or paste it in your browser. By the way, in case you didn't see the title of this entry - our group name is "The Blue Light Special". Lame I know, but I couldn't think of anything else.

I'm bring'n Brettman Back...

Alright Dave...this is a family blog. Just because Anne lets you run around in your speedo at home (yes Dave does have a speedo--his friend at business school (NOT ME!) bought it for him...it is a little weird, I know) doesn't mean you can run around here looking like that.

Well, I have yet to post on here since I started this thing. And it is mostly due to the fact that while September was a great month for running, the Rockies kept me up way too late almost every night in October to hit the treadmill at 5:30 am. So, it is now November and aside from my cougars, I am running out of excuses and I am attempting to get back on the wagon. Part of my problem is that 1) I hate running on the treadmill--I really need the wind in my hair and the asphalt beneath my feet. I am just too much of a Pansie at the moment to take off in the dark when it is below freezing outside. And 2) until my registration clears the bank...I am always a little reluctant to go hard core on the training--there is always a slight possibility that my exercise vacation may get extended for just a little while longer...a guy can hope.

Oh, and please welcome the newest bloke to the blog--Alex. We are all keen as mustard to have you aboard mate. (And it is about time that we had some more cougars to balance out this group.)

Happy registration everyone...

Confession

OK honestly, the only reason why I haven't posted anything in a while is because while y'all were training I was on vacation down in Miami. Plus, just look at my body, do you think I really need to do anything with this chiseled body.

Well Anne, your picture inspired me to post a recent pic of myself. As you can see, this training has really strengthened my abs. You can't even tell I've had a baby, can you? The day this picture was taken was a warm one, hence the reason why I am pouring water on myself. Also take note all of you in competition with me: I am #1 and I have the piece of paper draped across my chest to prove it!

WHERE ARE YOU?

So come on guys! You know I read this blog too, even though I am just the fan on the sidelines cheering y'all on. No one has posted a blog in a while! I wanna hear how your training is going. Just so you all know, I am on the process of training right now. Yeah I know training for a 6k seems whimpy. All I can say is more power to all of you who have the endurance to train for a half marathon. I don't think I could do it! GO GET EM!!! ~Anne

PS Don't I look great after only a month of training?
